One of the most common questions I get is: what does "everything handled" really mean?
It's a fair question. The phrase "concierge service" gets thrown around a lot in the travel industry. Most of the time it means a guy in a suit pulls out a binder full of brochures and says, "let me know what you like," and then he makes a call and books it for you. This is probably the most controversial topic. The issue is around bucket lists. Everybody wants to say they played Torrey Pines, and I don't blame them. It's a legendary course and previous host to the US Open. It's often the cornerstone of a San Diego golf trip. However, three months out of the year it plays extremely difficult as they gear up for the PGA event by growing the rough out. So, what we try to do at Local Knowledge is create a good balance of checking off the bucket list while also exploring and enjoying the many other wonderful golf courses in San Diego County.
There are many courses to choose from that are breathtakingly scenic, offering plush conditions, and absolutely worth experiencing. We will make recommendations based not only on what you want (bucket list requests) but also on your skill level, what's in peak condition when you're in town, scenery, walkability (if you enjoy walking), weather conditions, and more. Your rounds will be chosen with intention, not by default, and you'll feel the difference.
